Media Specialist of the Year Nominations

Due March 11, 2022
1. Each year administrators, teachers, parents or other staff may submit nominations for System Level Library Media Specialist of the Year to the Media Services Director at [email protected]
2. Nominees must be currently assigned to a building level library media center, have certification as a school media specialist from a GaPSC approved institution, and have three or more years of experience as a library media specialist.
3. Nominations should include an attached letter of recommendation (no longer than 1 page).
Below are the judging criteria. Nominations should be emailed to [email protected] or sent by pony mail to Michelle Lenderman in the Technology-Media Services Dept at SOAR.

March 11, 2022: Deadline to submit names of 2021-2022 School Media Specialist of the Year nominations to [email protected]
March 14, 2022: Nominees for Media Specialist of the Year will be notified by Media Services and begin working on Media Specialist of the Year Application Packet
April 11, 2022 by noon: Media Specialist of the Year Application Packets Due to [email protected]
April 13, 2022: Media Specialist of the Year Committee 1st Meeting *committee only
April 27, 2022: Media Specialist of
the Year Committee 2nd Meeting *committee only
May 20, 2022: Media Specialist of the Year Announced by BCSD Communications Department
Recognitions
TBA: Convocation - Bibb County Media Specialist of the Year Recognized
TBA: Bibb County Media Specialist of the Year Recognized at the TOTY Celebration
4. Eligible Bibb Media Specialists of the Year are encouraged to apply for the Middle Georgia Regional Library Media Specialist of the year. Regional winners are eligible to participate in the state Library Media Specialist of the Year competition sponsored by GLMA and GAIT.
The Georgia Media Specialist of the Year is announced at the GLMA Summer Institute in June.
*The Media Specialist of the Year Committee will be made up of certified K12 educators, college Library Media Program instructors, public librarians, and community leaders.
