PLAY Card Program

The PINES Library Access for Youth Card (PLAY Card) program gives students free access to public library materials and online resources to help them succeed in school.

The PLAY Card is currently available for public school students in Baldwin, Bibb, Jones, Macon-Bibb, Twiggs, and Wilkinson County.

What is PINES?
Georgia’s PINES network connects 300 library branches and affiliated service outlets together, allowing cardholders free access to print materials from anywhere in the state. It is available to anyone who lives, works or goes to school in Georgia.

How does it work?
Students at partnering schools use their student ID number to access their PLAY Card account like they would use a regular library card. The PLAY Card is free, and access to public library resources and services is free. There are no overdue fines for materials checked out through a student’s PLAY Card. Fees apply only for lost or damaged materials. If your student already has a library card, the student may use both the PLAY Card and their original library card. The PLAY Card account is an entirely separate account.

What are the benefits?
The public library provides free access to books and online resources to help your child succeed in school, as well as fun resources to develop a lifelong love of reading. Your public library is available all year long, with access to computers and Chromebooks available for checkout, internet access, research assistance, teen leadership programs, and volunteer activities.

What If I Don’t Want to Participate?
